Greetings friend, I'm Lynn!
I'd like to tell you a little bit about why I'm doing this summit and what it means to me.

23 years ago my mom was diagnosed with cancer in her mouth and the soft palate and she and her oncologist decided on a course of surgery followed by radiation treatment.  Mouth cancer or throat cancer usually is accompanied by somebody who smokes but my mom never did.  She'd always been very healthy.  She ate well and  took her supplements.  She did meditation and exercised regularly.   So who who knows why she developed cancer.  She was a librarian and an academic and decided to go to a meditation intensive at the Chopra Center in California before treatments started.  While she was there she got in the elevator with Deepak Chopra and she was spilling all of her thoughts and concerns about the radiation treatment that she was coming up.  Her biggest concern was that her the salivary glands die when they're exposed radiation treatment.  His response was “why do you believe that's going to happen?” Her response was that her doctor told her that it would happen.  That was her light bulb moment when she realized here might be a different path then what I've been told.  The practitioners at the Chopra Center gave her some recommendations for supplements and a gargle to use.  When she came home she had some friends use a technique called  Healing Touch  and she worked with an acupuncturist.  She went in for her appointment before the radiation treatment started and explained to her doctor that she wanted to do some of these things alongside the radiation treatment.  Her oncologist looked at her and said as long as you do everything I tell you to do you can try anything else, but it won't make a difference.  My mother is a little bit on the competitive side, so that comment really sparked her competitive spirit.  She decided she was going to prove him wrong!

When you have treatment to this part of your body all your salivary glands typically die, but there have been many times over the past 22 years that she has had full saliva in her mouth!  Even though it comes and goes it is there for her sometimes despite being told that salivary would be a medical impossibility after her treatment.

Her doctor keeps her name and number handy to slide it across his desk to these other patients who are looking for non traditional ways to support their wellness along side their cancer treatments.

As a daughter watching her mother go through this, I saw that there were so many options available for people to use as they navigate this cancer journey.

I am a quantum touch practitioner and have earned a degree from the Barbara Brennan School of Healing.  During COVID, I created guided meditations for people to use during their chemo treatments.  This was such blessing and honor to help people feel supported and loved during a time when they could not have family with them during their treatments.

Out of this came my desire to help as many people as I can who are faced with a cancer diagnosis.  And the Wholistic Cancer Support Summit was born.
